Week 7 NFL Lookaheads
Teaser Rankings, Weather to Watch, and Injuries to Track
Weird way to start the day: Me strongly agree with Kurt Warner for the first time in a long time. The decision by the Browns will come down to whatever the goal is for the season. If the goal is winning this season, then they’ll make a change.
I asked Kurt Warner what he'd do with the Browns mess. He didn't stutter.
"If I was running the Browns I would make a change at the quarterback position."
Three minutes of good stuff on the situation. What an episode of This Is Football.

ICYMI:
It was a banner week for underdog teasers last week, going 6-0, and yet, we still can’t seem to find a large favorite that wants to win, much less cover a teaser leg.
There is a small menu of teaseable legs this week, leaving you either teasing the two ugliest coaching situations together or maybe just sitting it out.
So, a small sad list of rankings for week 6 and all have their warts. The hurricane delayed the Jags’ flight, the Jets likely fired the wrong coaches and are in a holding pattern (pun absolutely intended) waiting to see if they can get Devante Adams to fix the offense, and the Eagles are favored, which is the kiss of death.
Jags +1.5
Jets +2.5
Eagles -9.5*
*The rarely used 7-point teaser hasn’t been terrible, but presents some problems: finding two -9.5 point favorites in the same week or finding a book that lets you leave it open to be filled a different week but still has fair pricing (you should be getting no worse than -140 on 7-points, -130 is ideal).
Week Seven Lookaheads!
I punched up the week seven prices, looked at anything situational, and updated some rest and travel adjustments to find a few spots I like as far as early numbers go.
Tampa Bay +4 on Monday Night Football
LA Rams -4 hosting Las Vegas
Minnesota -1.5 over Detroit
Carolina/Washington over 48.5
I'm hoping (but not banking on) good news for Antoine Winfield, Aaron Jones, and Cooper Kupp. I’d make these sides value at the current prices given my power ratings and the some of the situational stuff. The injuries falling my way would be an added bonus. I’ll be making small bets on these four and will give an update on how the market reacted next week.
Injuries to Watch
I was surprised by the early week reports, but we mentioned this on the podcast this year: every concussion is different. Nabers also seems like he’s not in the good graces of the coaching staff, either.
Giants ruled out WR Malik Nabers for Sunday night’s game vs. the Bengals.

I’ll update the full article/list as we go today, but some strange ones to watch for (oops, all RBs edition):
RB Brian Robinson is going to be a game-time decision for the Commanders
RB Bijan Robinson appeared on the injury report with a hamstring injury
RB Devin Singletary’s status seems to be in doubt again for the Giants
RB Jonathan Taylor almost certainly misses this week; he’s not practiced at all
RB Rhamondre Stevenson has missed three straight practices for NE.
RB Joe Mixon is again practicing today for the Texans
Weather to Keep an Eye On ⛈
Taking with a grain of salt, as always, when looking at the weather a few days out, but it is good to know where the possible problems are before you start diving in on bets.
Green Bay will almost certainly see some rain this weekend when the Cardinals visit.
It's the same for the Meadowlands, with NYG hosting the Bengals. There is a high chance of rain.
Some chance of rain in New England
The only real shot for heavy winds seems like it’d be in Tennessee, and even that seems unlikely.
I’ll be back bright and early Sunday morning with anything I’ve bet, as well as updates on key injuries, weather, news, and whatever else. Have a good weekend, enjoy your Saturday, and get to bed early. We’ve got a London game again.
