Weather ⛈

Another pretty light week for the meteorology crowd. Getting colder out there, but five games indoors and not much going on in the rest.

  • Carolina @ Green Bay: Pretty windy with sustained 15 mph or better and heavy gusting

  • LA Chargers @ Tennessee: It will be raining, but I'm not sure how much of it overlaps with the game. It could be done by the time kickoff rolls around.

Situational 📆

  • The Vikings are off extra rest coming off TNF, but play the Lions off their bye.

  • The Rams are coming off the bye and will host the Saints

  • Arizona is coming off the bye, heading to Dallas

  • The Chargers head to Tennessee with extra rest coming off TNF

  • Seattle plays in Washington, coming off the bye with the Commanders on a short week, having played Monday.

  • In the crown jewel of the afternoon, the Chiefs are playing on a short week after Monday’s win.

  • Jacksonville and Las Vegas face off, both playing off their bye.

  • The Bears are on back-to-back road games in Cincy today

  • The 49ers also travel for the 2nd straight week as they head to the Meadowlands to face the Giants.

  • Looking ahead: the Colts and Falcons play in Germany next week, so keep an eye on how they approach the travel this week.

Sunday Bets

A bunch of totals moving up has me hopeful for an enjoyable week. Light card, but a few angles I feel strongly about.

Denver ML +115

There’s a big difference between the Texans playing a good defense and the Texans playing a weak one. We saw how bad it could be for Stroud against the Seahawks, and I’m expecting a similar challenge for him here. I don’t love going to bat with Nix against an equally good defense, but the main difference is that he has an actual, functional offensive line. The Texans very much do not.

Giants ML +130

Mostly a play against a San Francisco defense that may be worse than what we’ve seen so far. If nothing else, I trust the Giants’ offensive scheme and think this is a plus matchup for Daboll with the depleted 49ers. Dart is still a little raw, but with time to progress through his reads, I think he has a nice day.

Seattle -3 +101

I now have Seattle rated as my third-best defense, and I still may be low with a couple of defenders returning from injury. Without Terry McLaurin, the offense lacks some depth, and even without Cooper Kupp today, I like the matchup against a very middle-of-the-pack defense here in Washington. An efficient day from Darnold should equal a double-digit win with the pass rush closing things out again.

7-point Teaser: Det -2.5/LAC -2.5 -140

Laying some juice here, but love the spot for both teams playing some very minus offenses right now. The Lions' pass rush has been relatively solid and now faces an inexperienced QB behind a line with some banged-up tackles.

I’m not sure what to say about the Titans game. They only have a couple of good players, and two of them are sitting out today with injuries. It could be a laugh, maybe I’m moving this line in the wrong direction, and I should be looking at the Chargers' alternatives.

Props

Waiting for some more to pop up, but as always, I’ll be filling some of the accounts with some props from the SharpStack tool. Leveraging the market to find good prices rather than spending my Sunday looking at stat projections. Try it out yourself for free for 7 days, if you are so inclined.
