Week 11 Power Ratings

Miami 📈

The vibes are high in South Beach, and they’ve rewarded themselves with a European vacation and a winnable game vs a very injured Commanders team.

A winning streak? In this economy? We always knew that McDaniel had it in him, even with Hill sidelined for the year. This is still an offense that can score enough to beat both bad and good teams with poor defenses.

Other upgrades: BAL, HOU, PHI, SF

  • Baltimore simply getting back to semi-full health gets them back in the conversation. They just can’t afford to have any bad losses from here on out unless they want to play all of their playoff games on the road. This was a team that was rated amongst the elite to start the season.

  • I’m assuming CJ Stroud is back for this week, but my current number reflects about a ¾ of the way point for this. I’ll bump it up a little bit more once he’s announced to have cleared protocol.

  • The Eagles' offense left something to be desired on Monday, but I had been worried about the front seven heading down the home stretch, and for the most part, the defense looked pretty damn good. The Jaelan Phillips trade is delivering so far.

  • I don’t know if Purdy returns (ever) since the 49ers are so nasty about relaying information to the media, but even if he’s not back, Jones has continued to do a fine job as a fill-in, and this offense deserves a small bump up. Defense still stinks due to injury.

NY Jets 📉

This is a team I bet to win straight up last week. They won the game by a touchdown, but still got a sizeable downgrade with their star receiver again hurt and missing time. The defense looked pretty solid at times, but to be fair, it was Dillon Gabriel. I don’t know that it matters which QB starts here, either way it’s a bottom-of-the-barrel offense.

Other downgrades: MIN, ARI, NYG, DEN

  • It’s clear that J.J. McCarthy either doesn’t have it, or needs more time to get there. I also wonder (aloud) if Justin Jefferson is healthy. He was grimacing on some plays and looked out of sync. The Vikings seem destined to finish 4th in the North.

  • The Cardinals were a little frisky with Brissett, but the litany of injuries is too much to take this team seriously right now.

  • Maybe the Giants get an interim coach bump this week? At least they are going with the correct choice at QB for now. There’s always a chance that Dart clears protocol, but in a season where the playoffs aren’t realistic, I’m not sure it’s a great idea to rush him back anyway.

  • Denver is still 8-2! That said, Bo Nix has a success rate under 40% on dropbacks the past month or so and is trending the wrong way for a team looking to fight off the Chargers and Chiefs for a division title.
