🍺Friday Free Bet: Prop Bet for Raiders/Phins

A recap of last night's injuries, Connor's free prop and my week 11 teaser leg rankings

The Injuries are a huge bummer obviously. The AFC North could be in a spot where they are forced to start Jake Browning, Joe Flacco, and Kenny Pickett next week. Not a world I want to live in.

Injuries, flags, drones. Not the game I signed up for, but as a man with a Ravens to win the AFC North ticket pending, I’ll take wins however I can get them.

The biggest news we need is some sort of update on Burrow’s timeline for return with his sprained wrist. A quick scouring of the “Twitter Doctors” was as unhelpful as usual, just long lists of all the things you could possibly do to your wrist.

I’m going to go with triangular fibrocartilage complex tear as my guess because it doesn’t matter and we’ll find out the real news over the next day or two. I guess I’m assuming he’s going to miss at least a few weeks since it’s a sprain on the arm he uses to throw the ball with.

Even if Joey Brrr is able to make it back later in the season, it may be too little, too late. They are 5-5, but also 1-5 in the AFC, an important tiebreaker. The schedule isn’t wildly demanding, but road games against the Steelers, Chiefs, and Jags aren’t easy. I wonder if there’s just a plan to shut him down if they drop the next two games vs PIT and JAX.

I don’t want to jump to conclusions about the “glove/brace” on Joe’s hand earlier, I’ll let that sort of thing figure itself out. I lean toward it being a coincidence, but who knows? The NFL is looking into it apparently.

The Mark Andrews injury sucks equally as hard. Not just a tight end, but likely their best receiver and a guy that’s been on the field for 50+ snaps a game all year long. Likely will need to step up, but this throws a hard wrench in the game plan going forward for Monken.

I don’t have strong thoughts on the actual game one way or another. It’s hard to say how it would have gone with Burrow the entire time, but after the first scripted drives, Cincinnati was looking quite a bit better offensively.

Still, not a good team to be playing from behind versus a good rushing attack. Baltimore was getting chunks on the ground throughout the 2nd half, keeping them at more than arm’s length. I was pretty impressed with OBJ, but he too ended up suffering an injury late in the game. The only silver lining is that he has 10 days before heading to LA to take on the Chargers.

Betting:

I played the chalky Gus Edwards in First Touchdown and it worked out for once. The Boyd props weren’t in bad shape and then Burrow went out. Browning wasn’t terrible, but he wasn’t good. Both props died, and I’ll blame the wrist injury since it makes me feel slightly better.

Going to try to talk Connor into giving me one next week for the actual Friday afternoon game because it’s very fun to have a stand-alone game on a lazy day like that. Hopefully, he can come through for us.

This week, he’s making a case for the Dolphins defense:
