Week 10 NFL Power Ratings
A Day Late Because the Trade Deadline was Actually Fun

Not a ton of movement for most teams. I finally just gave a team I’ve been backing a bunch (Seattle) a bump up on both sides of the ball, and we have a fun group of teams in the upper crust.
Washington is the big loser this week with multiple injuries, including the QB. The Jets' defense also takes a hit due to players who were helping them being traded to play on other teams going forward. So, why not look at what yesterday brought us:
The Trades:
I do not give a shit about the picks given up, the fact that a guy may be a rental, or how the contract structure looks.
That’s all long-term stuff that we’ll figure out later. For today and for this week, I’m simply doing my best to guess as to how the moves will affect the teams (spoiler: it’s not a lot for the most part).
So, a power rating of sorts for the moves, in regard to how they moved the needle for me and my team, by team ratings:
Quinnen Williams to the Cowboys. Again, I'm not grading this trade in terms of long-term team building (horrific), but rather looking at how it affects them this week right now. He’s a star and adds to the run stop as well as the pass rush.
Sauce Gardner to the Colts. Like the offensive line, a secondary is a unit, in my opinion. This is now a very good trio of CBs, and we’ll have to assume this middling defense is trending upwards in terms of coverage and, in turn, pass rush as well. Maybe I’m overreacting because it’s such a big name.
Jaelan Phillips to the Eagles. Good landing spot for a high-potential pass rusher in a great system with a good DC. This was obviously a spot of need for a team with aspirations of getting back to the big game.
Rashid Shaheed to the Seahawks. Don’t get me wrong, I love this move, I’m just not sure how much I can upgrade an already dangerous downfield offense. This team is going to be a pain in the ass to scheme against defensively.
Jakobi Meyers to the Jaguars. With Hunter injured and BTJ losing the plot, this is a plus move for a team that’s in the playoff mix.
Dre’Mont Jones to the Ravens. Another team in need of help, but also one that traded away a pass rusher earlier this season.
Trevor Penning to the Chargers. Not wild about him as a player, but lordy, as thin as they are on the line, anything helps.
Kyle Dugger to the Steelers. Not a really meaningful one, but worth scratching your chin and staring at for a few moments. It’s a spot of need and a team that’s been good at defensive evaluation.
not moving the needle:
Logan Wilson to the Cowboys
Jaire Alexander and Michael Carter II to the Eagles
Joe Tryon-Shoyinka to the Bears
Ja'Sir Taylor to the Chargers
