🦸‍♂️Super Wild Card Weekend Early Line Moves

Plus a look at the injuries for all 12 teams in action this weekend

Vrabel being added to the list of coaches looking for work was on my list, but I really didn’t see it as a straight-up firing! A mutual parting was floated a bit over the last few weeks, but this is a bit of a surprise. I’d assume he jumps into the top-three candidates for all the other teams filling a vacancy.

I get that sometimes it’s time to move on, but I tend to agree with Kevin here on this one.

Back and Forth in Houston

There appears to be some two-way action on the Cleveland/Houston side with Cleveland -2.5 and Houston +3 getting bet as they show up on the screen.

Buffalo Total Dropping Like A Rock

Still only Tuesday, but the forecast is still adamant that we are getting snow & 35 mph winds. Total opened at 40 and was down to as low as 35 this morning before some buyback on the over took it back to 36.5

GB/Dallas total moving upward

Opened 49.5 and has been testing 51 despite Green Bay’s semi-stinker offensively last week.

Philly out to -3

Apparently, even with the injuries to the WR corps and the late-season swoon, folks are ready to fade Baker Mayfield in the playoffs here. Out to a flat -3 from a -2.5 opener at most places.

Just my initial notes in the days leading up to actually getting practice reports. A good place to start for now.

Cleveland @ Houston

  • Lots of resting players for Cleveland last week, but note that Elijah Moore was active, meaning he should be good to go this week

  • Need to monitor: Greg Newsome II, Juan Thornhill, Dustin Hopkins, and Mike Ford.

  • I’ll assume Will Andrson will be on the injury report all week again but play, same with Laremy Tunsil

  • No word yet on the Texans WRs who sat last week: Noah Brown and Robert Woods

Miami @ Kansas City

  • Miami signed Justin Houston to help shore up the pass rush

  • CB Xavien Howard is not expected to play for the Dolphins on Saturday, neither will LB Jerome Baker (done for the year) and LB Andrew Van Ginkel. Also done for the year is LB Cameron Goode.

  • Saturday Game means a Tuesday injury report, looking forward to seeing where Waddle and Mostert are right now.

  • WRs Rashee Rice and Kadarius Toney were out last week in a game where anyone needing to heal up rested, but WR Justyn Ross hurt his hamstring and didn’t return. All three worth monitoring, along with CB L’Jarius Sneed

Pittsburgh @ Buffalo

  • TJ Watt is ruled out, very much expected

  • Need to monitor: both safeties, Minkah and Trenton Thompson, as well as Elandon Roberts

  • WR Gabe Davis sprained his PCL, this is good news (compared to the alternatives) but his status is yet to be determined

  • From Sunday Night: LB Tyrel Dodson, CB Rasul Douglas, and RB Ty Johnson left the game for Buffalo with injuries.

Green Bay @ Dallas

  • WRs Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs are still day-to-day

  • AJ Dillon was ruled out last week with a stinger and his brown thumb

  • Cowboys CB Stephon Gilmore has a clean MRI on his shoulder and told reporters that he’ll be playing Sunday

  • I would assume RG Zach Martin plays this week. He missed the Washington game with a late-week illness. Also sounds like the other guard, Tyler Smith is possibly back this week.

LA Rams @ Detroit

  • Dan Campbell says Jameson Williams should be back at practice this week. He also said Sam LaPorta has an outside shot at playing, which I think is not true.

  • WR/Return man Kalif Raymond was also ruled out during the game last week with a knee injury

Philadelphia @ Tampa Bay

  • Eagles Safety Sydney Brown is done for the year with a torn ACL

  • Sirianni is “hopeful” that A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith can play

  • Jalen Hurts had his X-rays come back negative. He dislocated his finger, but did not break it.'

  • Monday games mean injury reports start later, but it’s important to see where Baker Mayfield stands with his rib and leg injuries. May need to dig into beat reporter Twitter for this.
