Weather ā›ˆ

Somehow, we’re into mid-November, and there’s virtually zero weather that will affect this week’s games. Six of the twelve games today are indoors, which helps.

  • Eagles vs Cowboys: some decent chances of rain, which likely means they will almost certainly opt to have the roof closed

  • Jets vs Ravens: about as close to bad weather as we’ll get today, with winds 10-15 and some chances of gusts into the 20s.

Situational šŸ“†

  • Dallas is on a short week, coming off its Monday Night Football win, hosting Philly

  • The Colts are coming off their bye week as they head into Kansas City

  • The Raiders are on a compressed week vs the Browns, having played Monday night.

  • The Patriots have extra rest facing Cincinnati, coming off their TNF win

  • The Jets also have extra rest from TNF, and will head to Baltimore for their second straight road game.

  • The Saints are coming off their bye, hosting the Falcons.

  • The Seahawks will play their second straight week on the road in Nashville today

  • Tampa Bay is on back-to-back weeks on the road, taking on the Rams

Sunday Bets

Stuff has been flying off the board at me the past couple of weeks, leading to some bigger betting cards. This week, not so much. Most of my week was spent deciding how much Patriots to take while the Burrow speculation drove the number under a touchdown. Still, I do have a couple of looks for this Sunday.

Jaguars -2.5 -106

Not only is this an extremely injured Cardinals team (on both sides of the ball), but I also liked what I saw from an offensive game plan last week in the big win for the Jags. Liam Coen seems to understand what he has at quarterback and has started to lean into a deeper bag in the run scheme. Despite the 35 points scored, I think my biggest takeaway last week was how well the Jags’ pass rush performed. This week, they’ll get another chance to shine against a banged-up offensive line and a backup QB.

Colts +3.5

Maybe I’ll look foolish for betting against a future Hall of Famer with Danny Dimes, but this looks like a solid mismatch for the Colts' running game, and as we talked about this week at length, the Chiefs are just failing to put it all together at the moment. While still one of my highest-rated teams this season, they certainly aren’t on par with the Kansas City teams of the past few years right now.

Jonathan Taylor runs for 225 yards, and the Colts lose by three. I’d take it.

Eagles -3 +100

Another team that hasn’t looked as good as expected is the Eagles. Despite some dysfunctionality and some hit-or-miss performances from the offense, they are leading the NFC and would get the top seed right now. Meanwhile, we’re enamoured with the Dallas offense, but over the past month, they’ve gotten their wins over the Commanders, Cardinals, and Raiders. From what I’ve seen over the past few weeks, this should be a bit of a rude awakening going up against the Eagles’ front seven.

Good luck with your bets, have fun, and bet responsibly.
