Prepping for the Divisional Round
NFL Injuries, Weather, Opening Lines
Belichick interviewed with the Atlanta Falcons
Jason Kelce retires after a 13-year career with Philly
Connection made between Vrabel and the Seahawks
We went over all the games and gave our thoughts last night on the live stream (and podcast) but today I just wanted to treat it as a prep day for next weekend’s four games.
Divisonal Round Lines
Houston at Baltimore -9, total 44 (4:30 pm Sat)
Total getting bet down off the opener of 46, Texans also getting some action as we saw a bunch of 9.5s at open
Green Bay at San Francisco -9.5, total 50.5 (8:15 pm Sat)
Total getting bet up at places that opened lower than 50.5 and any +10s available for Green Bay are starting to disappear off the board.
Tampa Bay at Detroit -6, total 48.5 (3 pm Sun)
A couple of the soft openers had this at Detroit -4.5/5 and were bet up last night, now some -6.5s showing. Total is fairly steady, but 48s are getting bet to the over.
Kansas City at Buffalo -2.5 total 46 (6:30 pm Sun)
Some -3s were around yesterday during the games/into the evening, but we’ve settled at -2.5 across the screen. The total starting to center on 46
Weather🌦
Baltimore - Mid 20s and a decent chance for winds 15-25 mph
San Francisco - right now a HIGH chance of rain on Saturday, could be a gross night in Santa Clara
Detroit - has a roof, should be fine
Buffalo - Cold, temps around 20 degrees with some winds, but nothing wild like last week. Sounds like they should have the snow from this weekend all cleaned up though!
Injuries
Texans
DE Jerry Hughes was inactive last week after not practicing with an ankle injury
WR Noah Brown joins Tank Dell on the IR
LB Denzel Perryman exited with a rib injury but signs point to him being ready to play this week
Laremy Tunsil did return after exiting with a knee injury, he’s perpetually questionable.
Ravens
Mark Andrews did return to the practice field, but it doesn’t sound like he’s back quite yet. Harbaugh says they are sticking to the original timetable for his return.
Without a game last week, we didn’t get many updates. Guys to monitor: Zay Flowers, Kyle Hamilton, Marlon Humphrey, and Malik Harrison.
Packers
Jaire Alexander was on the report all week with shoulder and ankle injuries. He left the game with an ankle injury in the 3Q.
LB Isiah McDuffie also exited with a stinger
OLB Kingsley Enagbare is likely out for an extended time with a knee injury (likely ACL tear)
A.J. Dillon missed the Cowboys game with neck and thumb injuries. Did not practice at all last week.
49ers
Christian McCaffery sounded like he was going to be ready to go for this, but worth keeping an eye on his practice reports.
Just like the Ravens, not much news last week. Players to watch: Arik Armstead, Tashaun Gipson, Ambry Thomas, and obviously CMC.
Bucs
The Buccaneers came in fairly healthy and left the same. Rachaad White limped off the field in the 2Q, but returned
Lions
WR/PR Kalif Raymond missed the Rams game with a knee injury
Sam LaPorta had a massive knee brace on, but looked fine. Somehow.
Alex Anzalone hurt his shoulder but says he’s “good to go” for this upcoming game
Chiefs
WR Kadarius Toney was inactive last week but did practice a bit, someone to monitor
Rashee Rice was shaken up and limped off the field but was able to return.
DT Derrick Nnadi was knocked out of the game with an elbow injury
LB Cam Jones missed part of the game with a chest injury
Buffalo
Linebacker Terrel Bernard injured his ankle and was carted off. X-rays were negative and it’s being called a sprain.
LB Baylon Spector (who was filling in for the missing Tyrel Dodson) injured his back during the game.
CB Christian Benford hurt his knee on the “sideline fumble” play and was replaced by Kaiir Elam
Slot Corner Taron Johnson was taken out of the game and evaluated for a head injury. Not sure if he’s officially in the protocol
Guard Connor McGovern was down on the field and exited, but returned almost immediately. Stefon Diggs also exited briefly after being shaken up.
The punter pulled his hamstring chasing down the return after a blocked field goal attempt. Sam Martin did come back and punt once in the 2nd half but had a bit of a limp. The Bills may have to look at bringing someone in.
Gabe Davis was unable to go against the Steelers
CB Rasul Douglas and S Taylor Rapp were also out yesterday. Maybe one positive note: Douglas said he was close and would be good to go next week.
